The Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo has today declared his ambition to vie for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections.
Sheriff is the son of a popular politician, Chief Yekini Adeojo who brought PDP to the Oyo State and the southwest.
It was gathered that Hon Sheriff was the party’s standard-bearer in the 2015 general elections where he came second at the election.
Speaking at the event held at the party secretariat in Ido Local Government, the party chairman Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba and other Ido executive members of the party at the ward level commended Hon Sheriff for his sterling performance at the council, adding that he is replicating what Governor Seyi Makinde is doing across the state.
Hon Adeojo opined that it is the turn of Ido LG to produce a House of Representatives candidate since it was last held by late Alh. Sodiq Anwo between 1999 and 2007 after which it was held by Ibarapa East till date.
The party chairman Alh. Ayuba in his admonition thanked Hon Adeojo for his courage to salvage Ido fraction of the federal constituency by coming out for the post. He also prayed for the success of Sheriff’s team and also requested for office facilities for the party secretariat.
Responding, Hon Sheriff promised to supply the needs which include a Public address system, generator and other logistics latest by this Thursday.
