According to multiple reports, running back Ronald Jones II signed a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jones II rushed for 428 yards on 101 carriers with four touchdowns. He finished with only 10 receptions, the lowest total since his rookie season (7).
Jones II played in 16 games but started only three times last season.
Over the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Jones II made 22 starts, finishing with 2,176 yards from scrimmage. On the ground, he rushed for 1,702 yards, adding 13 touchdowns. He averaged eight yards per reception through the air, catching 59 passes.
A second-round pick by Tampa Bay out of USC in 2018, Jones II played 55 games with the Buccaneers over four seasons. Over his career with the Bucs, Jones II rushed for 2,174 yards, compiling over 2,700 yards from scrimmage with 19 total touchdowns.
Jones II now joins the Chiefs, which already added wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their offense this offseason.
