The Nigerian music industry has continued to witness the emergence of young rising artistes with new sounds and songs who appear to be doing what it takes to keep their brands afloat.
Born Ogede Paul Onah, Onah Paid is a young Nigerian rapper and songwriter who is making a name for himself in the industry.
Onah Paid who gained initial recognition with his single “Long Time Coming” released on January 3, 2022, is a soul-rapper known for telling his life story in his songs.
According to him, making songs that tell about his life experiences which others could relate to is what brings him fulfillment.
Onah Paid, who is currently studying Criminal Law at the University of Indianapolis, USA, attended St. James’ Primary School in Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State and proceeded to Kegbo Community High School, Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo
“My life as a youngster is one of the things that fuels my style of music. From growing up losing my father, I can confidently say I’m successfully turning my pains to gains,” he said.
His lyrics in one of his songs also reads: “Beat a fraud case in my city, don’t ask if I bribed the jury.”So it is supposed that he got his first lick from fraud.
When asked about his faith, Onah Paid said he goes to church as a culture but he is not religious.
